The Sydney Thunder and the Melbourne Stars will square off against one another in the inaugural game of the season on December 13, 2022, at Manuka Oval. This contest will be the first of the season. Only a select handful of Australia’s most renowned players will be allowed to take part in the competition for the time being due to the fact that the one-day international series against South Africa has been postponed.
There will be a total of seventeen distinct locations where the Twenty20 matches for the BBL 2022-23 will be played. Three of these locations are entirely new stadiums: the Lavington Sports Ground in Albury, the Cazalys Stadium in Cairns, and the North Sydney Oval. Each of the eight teams that are competing in the BBL will play a total of 14 matches throughout the course of the season. Of those 14 matches, each team will play 7 at their home venue and 7 away from home.
During the course of the full BBL 2022-23 season, each of the eight competing teams will play a total of 14 games, with a split of seven games played at home and seven games played on the road.
There will be 56 league matches played between each of the clubs during the BBL 2022-23 season. Five knockout games will be played at various venues throughout Australia after those matches. On February 4th, the championship match will be contested after an elimination round, a qualification round, a knockout round, and a challenger round.
January 27 has been designated as the day for the BBL 2022-23 Eliminator, January 28 and 29 have been designated as the dates for the BBL Qualifier and Knockout round, and February 4 has been designated as the date for the BBL 2022-23 Final.
In each of the previous two seasons of the competition, both the Sydney Sixers and the Perth Scorchers have advanced to the BBL finals. The Sixers defeated the Scorchers in the ninth round of the competition, and they were awarded the title. Unexpectedly, Perth had to defeat the Sixers the year before in order to win the championship.
The KFC BBL 2022-23 campaign is expected to have all the elements of Big Bash that we love most, including elite athletes, stadiums jam-packed with home fans, and some of the most exciting nights this summer.
